The story behind the design

The road is long. The blue makes up for it.

KwaZulu-Natal rewards those who make the journey. From the coral reefs of Sodwana Bay to the shark encounters of Protea Banks and Aliwal Shoal, this is a coastline shaped by warm water, migrating whales and the possibility of something large appearing from the blue.

The design brings that world together through the hammerhead, Aliwal Shoal, the protea, shield forms and beadwork-inspired geometry. Each element reflects something of South Africa: its marine life, landscape, culture and unmistakable energy.

For those who have dived here, it carries the memory. For those still planning the journey, it carries the possibility.

Six hours on the road for another day underwater. Fair trade.
